It’s September, and guess what? It’s time for our newsletter of some of the best available scholarships. This newsletter features scholarships in Canada, USA, UK, France, Sweden, and more.
Unlike the rest of the time, this month we decided to add something new, something that we hope you find it useful. From now on, our newsletter will feature a list of expected scholarships for the current month.
If you are new to mastere.tn, our monthly newsletters are made public three days after they are sent to our subscribers inboxes. However, ReCap Newsletters are not published on the blog. ReCap is our weekly email that highlights top stories and opportunities you may have missed.

So, less talking more doing, the following scholarships are currently open for application, those labelled [awaited], are expected to be announced this month:
1. Gates Cambridge Scholarship, UK
Each year, Gates Cambridge offers 80 fully funded scholarships to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree (Master or PhD) in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. Approximately two-thirds of these awards will be offered to PhD students, with approximately 25 awards available in the US round and 55 available in the International round.
2. Government of Ireland Scholarship, Ireland
The Government of Ireland Scholarship Programs consist of two sub-programs: the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Program and the Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
These programs support suitably qualified research master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral candidates pursuing, or intending to pursue, full-time research in any discipline.
3. University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship, Canada
Offered annually to undergraduate international students entering first year in any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall term who have satisfied the university’s English Language Proficiency requirement.
Renewable in the second, third and fourth year at the University of Calgary, provided recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or more over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
4. Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships, Switzerland
The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships have four categories: Master scholarships (arts fields only), PhD scholarships (all fields), Postdoctoral scholarships (all fields), Research fellowships (all fields).
You are free to apply for any category you want, as long as you meet the requirements.
5. UK Government’s Chevening Scholarships, UK
Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relationships with the UK.
6. Lester B. Pearson at University of Toronto, Canada
The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarships at the University of Toronto provide an unparalleled opportunity for outstanding international students to study at one of the world’s best universities.
7. McCall MacBain Scholarships, Canada
The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship that will provide students with the mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community they need to accelerate their impact on the world. Students will be enrolled at the McGill University, Canada.
8. Emile Boutmy Scholarship, France
Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy scholarships, named after the founder of Sciences Po (1871), to welcome the best international students. Nearly half of the students at the Bachelor’s level are international, and a significant portion of its courses are taught in English.
9. Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Scholarships, Canada
The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation scholarships are one of the most prestigious and generous financial aid offered to early career figurative artists. It is also one of the most venerable, having been awarded to many brilliant artists for over half a century. Winners of this scholarship will be enrolled at Laval University, Canada.
10. University of Lausanne Scholarships, Switzerland
The University of Lausanne scholarships are excellence scholarships intended exclusively for students who have graduated from a foreign university and whose academic performance is of the highest level.
The University of Lausanne is currently ranked within the global top 150 of the QS World University Rankings. UNIL has close to 16,000 students, of which around one in four comes from abroad. It also has a strong international atmosphere in its faculty members, with almost one in two coming from outside Switzerland.
11. The Gates Foundation Scholarship, USA
The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households in USA. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to 300 of these student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
12. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships, Canada
The Vanier Canada Scholarship program is designed to attract and retain world-class doctoral students. Vanier Canada scholarships supports those who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high level of academic achievement.
13. Dalarna University Master Scholarships, Sweden
Every year, Dalarna University awards partial scholarships to a number of its new international, fee-paying Master’s students who have proven themselves to be outstanding in their educational endeavors.
The scholarships go directly towards a reduction in your tuition fees and will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees.
14. Stanford University Scholarships, USA
The Knight-Hennessy scholarship program will annually admit 100 high-achieving students with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to study at Stanford University.
Scholars will receive funding for three years to pursue master‘s or doctorate level degrees, or professional programs along with education in leadership, innovation and other curricula designed to develop scholars’ capacity to lead ambitious change in a complex world.
15. International Master’s Award of Excellence, Canada
The International Master’s Award of Excellence will be awarded to eligible international master’s students normally entering a research-based graduate program at the University of Waterloo. Students will be selected based on academic excellence as demonstrated through their application for admission to the graduate program.
16. KAUST Scholarships, KSA
KAUST is an international graduate-level science and technology research university located on the shores of the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. Home to world-class faculty, scientists, engineers, and students from around the globe, the campus’s 10 research centers focus on finding solutions to problems in areas related to water, food, energy, and the environment.
17. Eiffel Scholarships, France [AWAITED]
The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract top foreign students to enroll in their masters and PhD programs.
It gives opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants up to 25 years old from developing countries at master’s level, and applicants up to 30 years old from developing and industrialized countries at PhD level.
Expected date: Week of the 28 September 2021 (CONFIRMED).
18. International Leader of Tomorrow, Canada [AWAITED]
University of British Columbia offers approximately 50 scholarships each year to recognize international undergraduates who demonstrate superior academic achievement, exceptional leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, and recognized achievement in other key areas.
Expected date: This Fall (CONFIRMED).
19. BTH Scholarships, Sweden [AWAITED]
BTH scholarship programme for prospective students is available for citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education. Applicants to distance education at BTH are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Expected date: September 15th, 2021 (CONFIRMED).
20. Sweden Government’s SI Scholarships, Sweden [AWAITED]
The program is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It offers you a unique opportunity to develop both professionally and academically, experience Swedish society and culture, and build a long-lasting relationship with Sweden and other scholarship holders. Usually, 4-6% of the applicants are awarded a Global Professionals scholarship.
Expected date: This Fall (CONFIRMED).
21. University of Pau and the Adour Region Scholarships, France [AWAITED]
The E2S UPPA project, labeled Investment of the Future, offers scholarships to foreign students wishing to pursue a Master’s degree in the fields of energy and environment. E2S UPPA has developed a high level graduate program in its fields of excellence with 15 Masters taught in English.
Expected date: End of September (UNCONFIRMED).
22. MasterCard Foundation Scholarships, France [AWAITED]
The Mastercard Foundation Scholarships are excellence scholarships intended for students from sub-Saharan African countries who face difficulties, particularly financial, in accessing higher education.
These highly selective scholarships are open to candidates wishing to join our Bachelor’s program, one of our seven graduate schools, or the Sciences Po Summer School.
