Applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Imaging (EMJM IMAGING) are open for the academic year 2024/2025. Offered by a consortium of three universities in Italy, Sweden, and Finland, the program aims to fund students of all nationalities to pursue a two-year Master’s degree. The scholarship covers registration fees and provides a monthly allowance of €1,400 for two years. The deadline for application is February 29, 2024.
EMJM IMAGING PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The EMJM IMAGING offers comprehensive theoretical and practical training in multidimensional image and video processing. The program emphasizes the use of machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence for visual signal processing.
All admitted students start at POLIMI in Italy, where they spend their first year establishing the foundations of their expertise. In the second year, students can continue their studies based on their choice of specialization:
- at the University of Central Sweden if they choose the ” Visual AI ” specialty,
- at the University of Tampere in Finland if they opt for ” Image modelling and data-intensive imaging “.
At the end of the program, candidates will have two master’s degrees, one awarded by Politecnico di Milano and the other by the University of Tampere or the University of Central Sweden.
The following universities represent the consortium responsible for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program in Imaging:

- University of Tampere (Finland)
AMOUNT OF THE EMJM IMAGING SCHOLARSHIP
The EMJM IMAGING scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides a monthly allowance of €1,400 for the duration of academic activities and/or up to 24 months. The program offers 15 scholarships.
The EMJM IMAGING is open to students of all nationalities with a Bachelor’s degree in information and communication technologies, computer or electrical engineering, or a related field, with:
- good grades in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, including courses in probability theory and statistics, and linear algebra.
- good grades in Computer Engineering, including an object-oriented programming course.
Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.

In addition to the EMJM IMAGING application, you should have submitted a local application on the POLIMI online admission portal for the Laurea Magistrale (Master’s in Science) in COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING.
The deadline to finalize the application on the EMJM IMAGING portal is February 29, 2024.
