University of Paris scholarships for international students 2021-2022

The MIEM program, funded by the IdEx University of Paris, aims to promote the internationalization of Master’s courses and facilitate the reception of the best international students in order to constitute in particular a pool of excellence for the recruitment of future doctoral students. This program also aims to train future highly qualified professionals who will participate in the economic and social development of their country of origin.

Number of scholarships
91 scholarships will be awarded to students admitted to the courses listed in the call for applications (see below).
The scholarships are distributed as follows:
- Faculty of Science: 35 scholarships of € 8,000 each;
- Faculty of Health: 28 grants of € 10,000 each;
- Faculty of Societies and Humanities: 35 grants of € 8,000 each;
- IPGP (Paris Institute of Globe Physics): 7 grants of € 10,000 each.
Eligible master’s programs
The scholarships are intended for foreign students coming to study at the University of Paris in one of the masters preselected by the faculties of science, health, social and human sciences (SSH) and IPGP (Institut de Physique du World).

Duration of scholarship
The MIEM scholarship is a masters level scholarship only. It cannot be combined with any other scholarship. It is allocated for one non-renewable year and without possible postponement.
Access level
Master 1 for students holding a license or a foreign diploma equivalent to a license. Master 2 for students holding a foreign diploma equivalent to Master 1 in France.
Eligibility condition
Only students applying for the preselected Masters can apply for the scholarship. The list of preselected Masters can be found on the website of the university of paris (above). Under the heading diploma, please click on “master” in the training catalog.
Applicants must also meet the following criteria:
- Be of foreign nationality and new to the French University.
- Hold a foreign baccalaureate or national diploma certifying the end of secondary studies (It corresponds to the international ISCED / ISCED 3 level)
- Students applying for the Master 1 must hold a foreign diploma equivalent to a French License
- Students applying for the Master 2 must hold a foreign diploma equivalent to the French Master 1
Please note: Students corresponding to one or the other of the statuses listed below are not eligible for the scholarship :
- Foreign holders of a French baccalaureate who have studied abroad
- Foreign students holding a French national higher education diploma and / or whose last diploma was obtained in France
- Binational / binational candidates, when they have French nationality, are not eligible.
In addition to these general criteria, each Master will apply its own selection criteria. The candidate will not be declared a laureate of the scholarship program until after admission to the chosen master’s program.
Application form and required documents
The application is set for February 1, 2021 by completing this form (Document Microsoft Office Word) eand to be returned, with the other required documents mentioned therein, by email to : [email protected]
Applications procedures
Step 1 : Students send their application to the Office of International Relations and Strategy (SRI): [email protected]. Please note that only complete applications will be accepted. Each candidate is invited to check that his application file is correctly completed and that all supporting documents are attached.
Step 2 : The Office of International Relations and Strategy (SRI) communicates the candidates’ files to the faculty councils which select the laureates.
Step 3 : The Office of International Relations and Strategy (IRS) will communicate the results to all applicants by email. The winners will have 15 days from the date of receipt of the email to come forward and accept the scholarship. After this period, he will automatically be considered as having withdrawn and a candidate from the secondary list will be contacted.
Date of announcement of the results:
April 15, 2020. The candidate’s response is expected between the 1st and 15th day of receipt of the email.
