For the <strong>2026\u20132027<\/strong> academic year, <strong>seven scholarships<\/strong> are available: <strong>six for master\u2019s programs<\/strong> and <strong>one for a PhD<\/strong>. The scheme is intended to support the development of a new generation of African experts and also includes networking events, seminars, and a <em>Junior Internship<\/em> program for master\u2019s students.<\/p>\n<p>For master\u2019s students, the scholarship is worth <strong>\u00a327,730<\/strong>. This amount is first applied toward tuition fees, and if those fees are lower than the award value, the remaining balance is paid to the recipient as a living allowance. Part-time programs and two-year master\u2019s degrees are not eligible.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n<p>To be eligible for the Hyundai Motor Group scholarships at SOAS University of London, applicants must meet several requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be <strong>a citizen of an African country<\/strong> and <strong>ordinarily resident in Africa<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>be liable for <strong>overseas tuition fees<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>apply for a program starting in 2026\u20132027. Applicants who are already enrolled are not eligible;<\/li>\n<li><strong>for master\u2019s programs<\/strong>, hold or be expected to obtain a bachelor\u2019s degree equivalent to a strong academic record. <strong>For the PhD<\/strong>, applicants must hold a master\u2019s degree with a high academic standard. Applications slightly below the preferred academic profile may still be considered, though they will not be prioritized;<\/li>\n<li>have submitted an application for admission to SOAS. It is not necessary to have received an offer at the time of applying for the scholarship, but an <strong>unconditional offer<\/strong> must be obtained before the selection panel meets;<\/li>\n<li>meet the English language requirements of the chosen program. If admission is conditional on a language test, the applicant must provide the result within the required timeframe;<\/li>\n<li>the scholarship <strong>does not cover pre-sessional English language courses<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Apply for the Hyundai Motor Group Scholarships<\/h2>\n<p>The application process for the Hyundai Motor Group scholarships at SOAS consists of two stages:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Apply for the academic program:<\/strong> applicants must first submit an application for admission to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/admissions\/pg\/howtoapply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">master\u2019s<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/admissions\/pg\/research\/howtoapply\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">doctoral<\/a> program at SOAS through <a href=\"https:\/\/evision.soas.ac.uk\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_sso.go\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the relevant portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apply for the scholarship:<\/strong> once the admission application has been submitted and the necessary login details have been received, applicants must complete the scholarship application through <a href=\"https:\/\/evision.soas.ac.uk\/urd\/sits.urd\/run\/siw_sso.go\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the SOAS portal<\/a> no later than <strong>April 25, 2026 at 12:00 noon (UK time)<\/strong>.
