Of these scholarships, nearly two-thirds are allocated to doctoral candidates. Approximately <strong>25 scholarships are designated for American students<\/strong>, while the remaining <strong>55 are available to international applicants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>About the Gates Cambridge Scholarships<\/h2>\n<p><strong>LEVEL:<\/strong> Master\u2019s and Doctorate.<br \/>\n<strong>APPLICATION DEADLINE:<\/strong> December 3, 2024, or January 7, 2025, depending on the chosen course.<br \/>\n<strong>NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS:<\/strong> 80 scholarships (55 for internationals and 25 for the United States).<br \/>\n<strong>FUNDING:<\/strong> Fully funded.<br \/>\n<strong>TARGET GROUP:<\/strong> All nationalities except British citizens.<br \/>\n<strong>HOST UNIVERSITY:<\/strong> University of Cambridge.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship<\/h2>\n<p>Candidates interested in this scholarship must meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Be a citizen of a country other than the United Kingdom.<\/li>\n<li>Intend to apply for one of the full-time residential study programs offered at the University of Cambridge, such as a doctorate, master\u2019s, MLitt, or a one-year postgraduate course.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In addition to these requirements, applicants must demonstrate the following qualities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An outstanding academic record.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional intellectual capacity.<\/li>\n<li>Clear motivation regarding the choice of your study program.<\/li>\n<li>Proven commitment to improving the quality of life for others.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership potential.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Gates Cambridge Scholarship Amount and Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Gates Cambridge Scholarships offer the following benefits:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Basic Funding:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University of Cambridge registration fees.<\/li>\n<li>An allocation of \u00a321,000 for a 12-month period. For doctoral candidates, this scholarship extends for up to four years.<\/li>\n<li>A one-way economy class airfare for travel to and from the program\u2019s start and end.<\/li>\n<li>Entry visa fees and costs associated with the immigration health surcharge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Additional Funding on Request:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Gates Cambridge Scholarships also consider requests for various types of additional funding on a discretionary basis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Academic Development Funding:<\/strong> Between \u00a3500 and a maximum of \u00a32,000 to attend conferences and courses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Family Allowance:<\/strong> Up to \u00a311,604 for one child and up to \u00a316,548 for two or more children. No funding for a partner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fieldwork:<\/strong> You may request to retain your allowance while conducting fieldwork as part of your doctorate.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maternity\/Paternity:<\/strong> You may request to pause your studies for up to 6 months and continue receiving your allowance during this period.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding for Unexpected Difficulties:<\/strong> Additional financial support in case of unforeseen circumstances the candidate may face.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Deadlines<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications Opened: September 4, 2023.<\/li>\n<li>Application Deadline: Depending on your course, either December 3, 2024, or January 7, 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Application Results: First week of March 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Scholarship Offer: Last week of March 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Accept Offer By: 72 hours after receiving the offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Eligible Courses for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship<\/h2>\n<p>Before submitting your application, you should thoroughly research the program you intend to pursue.
