Call for Applications for Erasmus Mundus EMJM DREAM Scholarships

Applications for Erasmus Mundus DREAM scholarships are open for the academic year 2024/2025. Offered by a consortium of four universities in France, Spain, Germany, and Romania, the program aims to fund students of all nationalities pursuing a two-year Master’s degree. The scholarship amount is €1,400 per month for two years. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2024.

DREAM is a two-year Master’s program that offers multidisciplinary training in the field of modern power systems. The program’s curriculum combines the areas of electrical systems, smart grids, renewable energy production, automatic control, and power electronics.

Graduates of the DREAM master’s program will obtain 2 (or 3) Master’s degrees from the institutions where they studied. These degrees are officially recognized and enable graduates to continue their studies with a Ph.D..


DREAM is a Master’s program offered by the following universities:

  • Centrale Nantes, France (coordinating institution).
  • Technical University of Catalonia, Spain.
  • Technische Universität Berlin, Germany.
  • Politehnica University of Bucharest, Romania.


The consortium offers two types of funding:

  • Erasmus Mundus EMJM Scholarships worth €1,400/month for two years, totaling €33,600. Only the best students (after document verification and selection) are eligible for this scholarship.
  • Consortium Scholarships in the form of a reduction in tuition fees from €1,000 to €6,000 for students applying for self-financing.


The DREAM master’s program is open to students holding a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 180 ECTS credits from the European system, after at least three years of study in one of the following fields: Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Power Electronics, Automatic Control, Applications of Control Theory, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, Wind Power, Solar Power, Electrical Vehicles, Microgrids, Multidisciplinary.

Applicants must be proficient in English, both written and spoken. Non-native English speakers must present test results for one of the following exams:

  • TOEFL ITP: 550, IBT: 80 or higher
  • Cambridge B2 First test (score 173 or higher)
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced test (score 160 or higher)
  • IELTS (score 6.5 or higher)
  • TOEIC: min 800


Candidates wishing to apply for the DREAM Master and the EMJM scholarship must register through and complete the online form with their personal information while uploading the required documents. The deadline to finalize your application is January 31, 2024.

The following documents are required for the application:

  • Official transcripts.
  • Official diploma.
  • CV.
  • Motivation letter (use this mandatory format).
  • Proof of identity.
  • Proof of English proficiency.
  • Names and contacts of two referees. They will be contacted to provide a letter of recommendation.
