Applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarships in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) are currently open for the academic year 2024/2025. MAiSI is an international two-year Master’s program coordinated by six leading European universities in Belgium, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Greece. The scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide a monthly stipend of €1,400 for two years. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2024.

MAiSI is a two-year full-time Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s program in sports ethics and integrity. It focuses on topics such as anti-doping, anti-discrimination, fair play, global sports governance, betting, match-fixing, protection, Youth Olympic Games, Olympism, and Paralympism.

The MAiSI master’s degree will prepare students for high-level careers in sports administration and governance, with an emphasis on ethical sports, integrity, and compliance.

The program spans over two years. In the first semester of the first year, students are at KU Leuven in Belgium. Then, they spend their second semester at Charles University in Prague, in the Czech Republic, with teachers from Swansea University in the United Kingdom providing classes both in Leuven and Prague.

The first semester of the second year takes place at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, or at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. The final semester is spent at a partner university of the consortium, depending on the specialization chosen for the students’ thesis.

MAiSI also includes a five-week study stay at the University of the Peloponnese in Greece, focusing on research methods and Olympic studies.

Upon completion of the program, students receive a joint degree awarded by the six participating universities, titled “Master in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MA)”.

The MAiSI Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarship will cover all participation costs for the four semesters: tuition fees, library and laboratory fees, as well as all other mandatory expenses related to the student’s participation in the master’s study program. Additionally, it grants a monthly stipend of €1,400 for the duration of academic activities and/or up to 24 months.

The Erasmus Mundus Master in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) requires that successful candidates hold a bachelor’s degree. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the program, all degree disciplines will be considered when reviewing applications.

Particularly relevant fields for the Master in Sports Ethics and Integrity include business, management, disability studies, ethics, governance, history, law, philosophy, social sciences, as well as sports and exercise sciences. However, it’s important to note that this list is not exhaustive.
