Applications for Erasmus Mundus Scholarships in Techniques, Heritage, and Territories of Industry (TPTI) are currently open for the academic year 2024/2025. TPTI Master’s program is an international two-year Master’s program coordinated by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France), delivering a joint degree with the University of Padua (Italy) and the University of Evora (Portugal). The scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide a monthly stipend of €1,400 for two years. The deadline to apply is March 4, 2024.

TPTI PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The TPTI program focuses on the history and heritage of techniques (objects, buildings, cities, landscapes). It targets students and professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge in these areas, either to pursue a career in teaching and research or to work in cultural professions (museums, cultural institutions management, heritage professions, cultural mediation professions).

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Students spend their first semester at the Sorbonne School of History, following a program centered on the history and anthropology of techniques. In the second semester, students move to Padua, where courses focus on industrial heritage. The third semester takes place in Evora focusing on the study of cultural and technical landscapes. In the fourth semester, students return to one of the three universities, depending on the orientation of their research topic.

The program includes a five-week study stay at one of the six partner universities:

  • Prague University of Technology, Czech Republic,
  • University of Oviedo, Spain,
  • University of Sfax, Tunisia,
  • Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar, Senegal,
  • University of Kagoshima, Japan,
  • National University of Córdoba, Argentina.

Upon completion of the program, students receive a joint degree awarded by Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, the University of Padua, and the University of Evora.

TPTI EMJM SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

The Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the TPTI Master’s program will cover all participation costs for the four semesters: tuition fees, library and laboratory fees, as well as all other mandatory expenses related to the student’s participation in the master’s study program. Additionally, it grants a monthly stipend of €1,400 for the duration of academic activities and/or up to 24 months.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The EMJM TPTI Master is open to students of all nationalities holding a Bachelor’s degree in history, art history, archaeology, anthropology, architecture, geography, and regional planning. Students in their final year of engineering schools, as well as those in architecture, landscape, and heritage schools, are also eligible to apply.

Moreover, the program is open to architects, planning professionals, cultural actors (archaeology, museology, heritage conservators), economists specialized in cultural heritage management, heritage management/restoration professionals such as engineers and paleometallurgists, as well as field archaeologists and experimenters, subject to validation of experience.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

To apply for the TPTI Master’s program, begin by filling out the application form available at the following link: application.tpti.eu. Then, send it with the required documents by email in PDF format to the following address: [email protected].

The application package should include the following documents:

  • Certified copy of the diploma.
  • Language proficiency certificate in French and English.
  • Motivation letter written in French or English.
  • Two recommendation letters in French or English, from university professors or, for professionals, from scientific supervisors or higher-level supervisors.
  • A curriculum vitae.
  • A study project (see the proposed themes).
  • The properly filled, dated registration form.

The main language of instruction is French, with English as a secondary language. French, Italian, Portuguese, and English courses are offered throughout the program.
