Friedrich Ebert scholarships program to study in Germany

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation scholarships for international students is open for applications for the 2021-2022 academic year. The scholarship is available for foreign students wishing to pursue bachelor’s degree (undergraduate), master or PhD in Germany.
The Friedrich Ebert scholarships program is committed to the fundamental values of democracy, freedom, justice and solidarity. Equitable access to educational opportunities is a major concern for the foundation.
The Friedrich Ebert program supports all courses taught in Germany. Applications from students in artistic fields are welcome.
Benefits of the Friedrich Ebert Scholarship
The program will provide successful applicants with the following:
- A monthly allowance worth: 830 EUR for license students or 850 EUR for master and PhD students ;
- Health insurance;
- Fellows with one child receive a family allowance of 276 EUR.
Eligibility for the Stock Exchange
Applicants for the Friedrich Ebert scholarship program must meet the following requirements:
- Be a national or resident of the following regions: Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe.
- Outstanding academic or academic merit (marks);
- Responsible, motivated individuals willing to get involved in the Foundation’s network
- Although classes are taught in English, but sufficient knowledge of German is required (DSH at least level 2, or DAF at least level 4 or a Zertifikat C 1 by a Goethe Institute).
- Show their attachment to the values of social democracy.
Number of scholarships
up to 40 scholarships per year.
Duration
The funding period corresponds to the duration of the applicants’ program.
Application procedures
Four steps lead to funding:
STEP 1 : Complete this online form.
The application system will ask you a few questions about your professional and family background. At this stage, no other document is required. In case of doubt or if you need to speak to someone before the application, you can contact the foundation here.
STEP 2:
The foundation will review your eligibility. If you are eligible, she will email you for additional documents. Once contacted, you have three weeks to download the documents.
STEP 3:
If you are shortlisted, the foundation will invite you to two interviews: with a professor in your field and with a member of the selection committee.
STEP 4:
The selection committee makes the final admission decision.
The deadline for the Friedrich Ebert scholarships program is annual : 30 November 2021.
