The University of Padua has opened applications for its International Excellence Scholarship Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year. These scholarships aim to attract highly talented international students wishing to enroll in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program taught entirely in English at Padua.

The application period runs from March 2, 2026 to May 2, 2026 for open-access programs and from March 10, 2026 to April 10, 2026 for programs with limited access.

Benefits of the University of Padua Excellence Scholarships

The University of Padua Excellence Scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year include:

• An annual allowance of €8,000 (gross), paid in two installments of €4,000. The first installment is paid after arrival in Padua and enrollment. The second installment is paid after earning at least 12 ECTS before the end of March 2027.
• A full tuition fee waiver; only the regional tax and a revenue stamp remain payable.

To continue receiving the scholarship in the second year, students must obtain 40 ECTS by the end of September 2027 and 60 ECTS by the end of March 2028. For Bachelor’s programs, the third year requires 90 ECTS by the end of September 2028 and 120 ECTS by the end of March 2029. If these requirements are not met, the scholarship is suspended and may be revoked.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the University of Padua Excellence Scholarships, applicants must:

• Be non-Italian nationals.
• Not reside in Italy at the time of application. EU citizens, including those from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland, who have lived in Italy for more than nine months are considered residents and are therefore not eligible.
• Hold a foreign qualification: a secondary school diploma for admission to a Bachelor’s program, or an undergraduate degree for admission to a Master’s program.
• Apply for one or two Bachelor’s or Master’s programs taught in English at the University of Padua within the specified deadlines. All eligible program applications are automatically considered for the scholarship; no additional application form is required beyond those needed for program admission.
• Not receive another scholarship funded by a public body. In case of multiple awards, the applicant must choose which one to accept.

Programs Eligible for the UNIPD Scholarship

The University of Padua Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027 are available to students enrolling in programs taught entirely in English at the University of Padua. The complete list is available at unipd.it/en/english-degrees.

These include Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in fields such as engineering, psychological sciences, medieval Italian studies, human health biology, earth and climate sciences, agriculture, economics, political science, engineering, humanities and social sciences, medicine, psychology, and science.

Application Procedure

To apply for the University of Padua Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027, follow these steps:

1. Choose a program: consult the list of English-taught programs and review the admission requirements for each program.
2. Prepare the required documents, including diplomas, transcripts, passport, and language certificates, in PDF format.
3. Create an account on apply.unipd.it and complete the online application form during the relevant application period. Applicants may apply to up to two programs.
4. Automatic consideration: every program application is automatically reviewed for the scholarship. No additional application form is required.

Results for the first application round will be published starting from March 11, 2026 for open-access programs and April 10, 2026 for limited-access programs.

Results for the second round will be published starting from May 7, 2026 for limited-access programs and June 4, 2026 for open-access programs.

Two application periods are available to apply for the University of Padua Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027:

1. The first application period ran from November 2, 2025 to February 2, 2026 for open-access programs and from January 7, 2026 to March 7, 2026 for limited-access programs.
2. A second application period may open if scholarships remain available: from March 2, 2026 to May 2, 2026 for open-access programs and from March 10, 2026 to April 10, 2026 for limited-access programs.
