The University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada offers admission scholarships to the most deserving international students. Any international student applying for a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral program at UBC will be automatically considered for all eligible scholarship programs. The deadline to apply is January 15, 2024 (for the September 2024 semester).

Scholarship Benefits and Amounts

The University of British Columbia offers a wide range of admission scholarships for international students at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels.   1. Major Entrance International Scholarship ($35,000): For outstanding international students entering UBC’s undergraduate programs, this scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years of study.
  2. Outstanding International Student Award: A merit-based admission scholarship awarded once to qualified students upon admission to UBC. Recipients demonstrate outstanding academic abilities and active involvement outside the classroom.
  3. Dennis and Patricia Lytle Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholarship: Valued at $35,000, these scholarships are for exceptional undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  4. J.K. ZEE Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholarship: Offered to a graduate student in electrical and computer engineering, this $11,300 scholarship can be awarded multiple times.
  5. Thomas BEECHING Scholarship: Scholarships totaling $24,050 awarded to new engineering students.
  6. Faculty of Applied Science Graduate Scholarships: Offered to national and international students enrolled full-time in doctoral, DMA, and Master’s programs, these scholarships may take the form of entrance scholarships, multi-year awards, tuition awards, or supplemental awards.
  7. SUSTech Ph.D. Scholarship: Up to twenty renewable scholarships, each valued at $25,000 per year, are annually offered to outstanding doctoral students.
  8. Frank & Godon Forward Scholarship: Valued at $73,850, these scholarships are available for Master’s and Doctoral students in the fields of physical sciences, life sciences, engineering, or business.
  9. J.K. ZEE Scholarship: A renewable $13,200 scholarship for two years offered to a graduate student in computer engineering or civil engineering.
  10. British Columbia Graduate Scholarship: These $15,000 scholarships each are annually offered by the Province of British Columbia to Canadian citizens or permanent residents enrolled in a graduate degree program in any field of study.

How to Apply to the University of British Columbia Scholarships?

To apply for an admission scholarship at the University of British Columbia (UBC), simply submit a complete application for any study program of your choice, whether at the undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral level. UBC will automatically consider your application for all eligible scholarships. If selected, notifications will be sent between April 15 and April 30, 2023.
