The Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation offer a Fellowship aimed at talented young intellectuals wishing to pursue a project in a field different from their usual area of research. This Fellowship is designed to support those who excel in their field but are ready to explore interdisciplinary paths. The Albert Einstein Fellowship includes accommodation, a stipend of 10,000 euros, and reimbursement of travel expenses. The application deadline is June 1, 2024.

Amount and Benefits of the Fellowship

The Albert Einstein Fellowship includes accommodation for five to six months in the garden cottage of Einstein’s summer house in Caputh, Brandenburg, located near the universities and academic institutions of Potsdam and Berlin. The fellow will receive a stipend of 10,000 euros and reimbursement of travel expenses.

Your family may accompany you during the Fellowship period. However, the Fellowship will not cover their travel expenses.

Eligibility Conditions for the Albert Einstein Fellowship

Applicants for the Albert Einstein Fellowship must be under 35 years of age and hold a university degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) in the fields of humanities, social sciences, or natural sciences. They must also demonstrate that their project is distinguished by its quality, originality, and feasibility, and evidence of advanced intellectual development.

The project in question does not need to be completely finalized during the Fellowship period; it may serve as the initial phase of a more extensive project.

Send your application by email to [email protected], including the following documents in English:

  • CV
  • A two-page project proposal
  • Two letters of recommendation

Make sure to send all documents before June 1, 2024.

Proficiency in English is essential, although TOEFL/IELTS results are not required.

At the end of the Fellowship period, the fellow will present their project at a public lecture at the Einstein Forum and the Wittenstein Foundation.
