The LABEX-GRAL of the Université de Grenoble Alpes, France, has launched a call for applications for six Master 2 (M2) scholarships. The GRAL scholarships are offered to cover the academic year from September 2024 to June 2025, including four months of courses and six months of research internship. The scholarship amount is €5,500. The application deadline is May 20, 2024.

The LabEx GRAL (Laboratoire d’Excellence Grenoble Alliance for Integrated Structural and Cellular Biology) is a research consortium based at the Université Grenoble Alpes. It focuses on understanding the modulation of biological functions.

Amount of the LabEx GRAL Scholarship

The scholarship amount from LABEX-GRAL is 5,500 € paid in two installments: 4,000 € in September and 1,500 € in February. During the internship, scholarship recipients will receive a “research internship stipend” of 600 € per month.

Eligibility for the GRAL Scholarship

The GRAL scholarships at the Université de Grenoble Alpes are open to students of all nationalities. However, they should not have completed their bachelor’s degree in Grenoble.

Application Procedure for the Labex GRAL Scholarships

To apply for the GRAL scholarship at the Université Grenoble Alpes, you must first apply for one of the mentioned Master’s programs via the e-candidat portal. Then send a single PDF file to [email protected] (Email subject: M2-2024-first name) before May 14, 2023 (11:59 PM, CET).

Your email must include the following documents:

  1. A cover letter indicating the selected Master’s program at the Université Grenoble Alpes, and two choices (ranked) for the six-month research internship project.
  2. A CV.
  3. Diplomas and copies of transcripts from the last two academic years (translated into French or English if necessary).
  4. For non-native English speakers, the level of language proficiency (e.g., TOEIC, Bulats, etc.).
  5. A letter of recommendation.
  6. The e-candidat portal application number, if known.

The application and admission to the 2nd year Master’s (M2) at the Université Grenoble Alpes are entirely independent of the GRAL Scholarship. Application deadlines may vary among different programs.
