1. Fulbright CLOSED

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational and cultural exchange program. Led by the U.S. government in partnership with 160 countries worldwide, Fulbright provides successful candidates with a maximum of two years’ funding toward a master’s degree or to conduct research in U.S. institutions  for one academic year.

2. Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship CLOSED

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges and foster change for our collective good. The Humphrey Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by the Institute of International Education.

Expected announcement date: February each year.

3. Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program CANCELED

The Canadian Francophonie Scholarship Program (CFSP) is entirely funded by the Government of Canad. The program is a scholarship program designed to build institutional capacities by training employed nationals from developing countries of La Francophonie.

4. Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships OPEN

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both Canadian and non-Canadian, who will positively contribute to Canada’s economic, social, and research-based growth.

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program seeks to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent nationally and internationally.

5. Trudeau Scholarships  T.B.A

6. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS)   OPEN

The Government of Canada launched the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships (Vanier CGS) program to strengthen Canada’s ability to attract and retain world-class doctoral students and establish Canada as a global center of excellence in research and higher learning.

Up to 166 scholarships are awarded annually, valued at $50,000 per year each.

7. China CSC Scholarships  ROUND YEAR OPEN

Chinese Government Scholarship programs sponsor international students, teachers, and scholars to undertake degree studies (bachelor, master, and PhD) and Chinese language study or academic research in institutions of higher education in China.

Chinese Government Scholarship covers both major study and Chinese language (preparatory) study.

8. British Chevening Scholarships  OPEN

The Chevening Scholarship is funded by the British government. It enables outstanding emerging leaders from all over the world to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the UK. The scholarships are fully funded :flights, accommodation, and course fees are all included.

9. DAAD Master Scholarship for All Academic Disciplines  OPEN

The DAAD is the world’s largest funding organization for the international exchange of students and researchers. This fully funded government scholarship program offers you the opportunity to continue your academic education in Germany with a postgraduate course of study.

Japanese government scholarship supports talented foreign students who study in higher education institution. All application procedures for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships are conducted through Japanese embassies, consulates in your countries, or institutions of higher education in Japan.

13. Government of Flanders Master Mind Scholarships  T.B.A

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards scholarships for master’s programs in Flanders and Brussels to outstanding students from around the world.

A Master Mind Scholarship includes a grant of €8 200 plus a tuition fee waiver per academic year.  The grant covers accommodation costs, insurances and a significant amount of your living expenses.

14. New Zealand Scholarships CANCELED

Due to COVID-19, the Tertiary scholarships are available to applicants from the Pacific only. We will be monitoring this program status.

15. Holland Scholarships T.B.A

The Holland scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship amounts to €5,000. You will receive this in the first year of your studies.

The Holland Scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in the Netherlands.

16. Orange Knowledge Program T.B.A

The Orange Knowledge Program aims to contribute to a society’s sustainable and inclusive development. Its scholarships are open to mid-career professionals in specific countries.

Scholarships are available for a selection of short courses (duration 2 weeks to 12 months) and master’s programs (duration 12 to 24 months).

17. Swedish Institute Scholarship For Global Professionals T.B.A

The following fully funded scholarships have a very close deadlines. We are listing them just to make you know what you did miss this year. Maybe, you’re asking, can I apply? Well, the answer is easy: Scholarship deadlines are not like tax deadlines, where there is a single day when all forms are due. Most scholarship requires some documents and a to-be-written original composition (motivation letter, research proposal, pitch…) and such a piece of work would sometimes take a month to be finalized.

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP) has announced the opening of applications for its scholarship program “Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED)” for the academic year 2023-2024. The scholarship is valid at any university: The ESED program gives you the freedom to study at any country of your choice.

GSEP will award a portion of its scholarships to students pursuing master’s degrees at universities based in developing countries. This means if you are already a master student and are currently studying in your home country, then you can participate.

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership is an alliance led by CEOs of the world’s leading electricity companies. Its members provide electricity to a significant portion of the world’s population: 1.2 billion people consume electricity supplied by its members, 1/3 of all electricity consumed in the world is generated and transmitted by its members, $3.6 billion is invested in R&D each year.

Last year, 60% of accepted applicants were from Africa: (1) Nigeria, (1) Egypt, (1) Ghana, (1) Eritrea, (2) Morocco. 30% were from Asia (India, Pakistan, and Indonesia).

About ESED scholarships

Amount of the ESED scholarships

The Education for Sustainable Energy Development program offers scholarships to a dozen students each year worth up to $10,000 per year of study for up to two years.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the ESED scholarships, potential applicants must:

• Be a citizen of a developing country.
• (Will or) Undertake master’s level studies in carbon-free energy, smart grids, electric transmission, energy storage, advanced electric technologies, public policy, economics, law, political science or other relevant fields.
• Pursue full-time study for at least one full academic year (two or three semesters), beginning in fall 2022. Students in their second year of a two-year program may apply.
• Be an outstanding student: graduate with excellent grades, be in the top 20% of your class, be committed to sustainable energy development, have a history of community involvement, commit to advancing your knowledge and understanding.

3. Complete the application form and upload all required documents.
4. Validate and submit your request.

Required documents

You must provide an electronic copy of all documents listed below. If the language of your original documents is not English, a certified translation is required.

• Passport or birth certificate.
• Curriculum vitae.
• A copy of your university transcript(s).
• Letter of admission to the university program of your choice. If this application is for the second year of a two-year program, please include proof of enrollment.
• An outline of the curriculum or courses you will be taking for your master’s program. You may also share the URL of a webpage detailing the program of your choice.
• Two letters of recommendation. One of these must be from an academic referee.
